Probably one of the biggest growth areas in recent years has been Search Engine optimisation, the process of getting your website ramked well in Search Engines in particular Google.
The internet is awash with 'get your website ranked 1 in Google in 24 hours' and other untruths, as more and more less trust worthy organisations have seen a way to make a quick buck the more businesses are being ripped off.
Now not every SEO company is dodgy, far from it but when your being asked to separate yourself from a large pile of cash you may want to first ask yourself whether this will have any real benefit to your business? The ultimate question to ask is will I get a good return on investment?
A good example is a client of Pixelweb, they run a garage and have a simple 4 page website. Business couldn't be better and they are allways fully booked the website is used purely as a means to inform current customers. They have been approached 3 times this year already by companies wanting to SEO his website, each time he has asked the question why? To which he has not yet received a good answer.
As I have said SEO done by a reputable company can really work for you if your business requires a good online profile. But in the real world that doesn't fit with every business.
